Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin
• 13-week contract
• Start date: 9/14/26
• 12-hour night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Schedule

• Guaranteed 48 hours per week
• Overtime after 48 hours worked
• Every other weekend and every other holiday
• May be floated between Neuro Critical Care ICU and MSICU, with possible float to other critical care and inpatient units as needed
• Low-census status may reduce scheduled hours in 4-hour increments; this is not considered on-call

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin RN license
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• 2 years of minimum experience
• Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU background with strong neuro assessment skills
• Must be outside a 50-mile radius of Wausau, Wisconsin

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 travel assignment preferred
• Experience as a Neuro Interventionalist
• Familiarity with EVDs and ICP monitoring

Clinical Setting

• 8-bed Neuro unit
• Patient population includes stroke, TBI, head injury, and neurosurgery
• Main procedures include neuro assessments and basic bedside ICU procedures such as line placement and intubation
• Neuro-specific procedures include bolt and drain bedside placements with Neurosurgery and care for Neuro interventional patients

• EPIC charting required
• Scrub color: any color
• Flu and COVID vaccine declination requires masking at all times during flu season, per policy
