Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide professional nursing care within the assigned department, coordinating care planning with other disciplines. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and reassessments of patients.
- Managing pain and educating patients and families on pain management.
- Revising care plans based on patient responses and evaluating effectiveness.
- Administering medications correctly and following safety protocols.
- Assisting physicians with procedures and performing treatments within the scope of licensure.
- Monitoring patients' hemodynamic status and interpreting results.
- Communicating effectively with the healthcare team and consulting other departments as needed.
Essential Functions
- Perform head-to-toe assessments on all patient populations (pediatric, geriatric, etc.).
- Demonstrate knowledge of medications and their administration.
- Formulate and evaluate teaching plans for patients and families.
- Provide care for patients with nutritional/metabolic issues and fluid/electrolyte management.
- Exhibit flexibility and organization in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years required; rural/small facility experience preferred.
- Certifications:
- ACLS required
- PALS or ENPC required within 6 months of hire
- Skills: High proficiency in Emergency Department (ED) and Medical/Surgical/Progressive Care Unit (MS/PCU) required.
- Additional: Must be willing to float and assist in various units as needed.
