Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER) – Nights

Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
Employment Type: Permanent
Shift: Nights
Hours per Day: 12


Job Summary

Provide nursing care within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process to patient care, teaching patients and families, documenting care in the medical record, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall patient care.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon
  • Minimum of 5 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Acute care hospital experience
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAFE class or approved workplace violence training (or obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurses’ Association Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (or obtain within 1 year of hire)
  • Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) certification (or obtain within 1 year of hire)
  • National certification in emergency nursing (CEN or equivalent) preferred

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility to prioritize and adapt to rapidly changing patient and unit needs
  • Effective teaching skills
  • Ability to respond effectively to patient crisis/emergency situations
  • Proficient computer skills including electronic medical record documentation
  • Consistent punctual attendance
