Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) (Nights)

Job Description

• Provide holistic nursing care across the lifespan, including neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults.
• Perform independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions following standards and competencies specific to the ICU.
• Execute the Standards of Nursing Practice: assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Develop and revise patient care plans, coordinate interdisciplinary care, and delegate activities appropriately.
• Participate in shared accountability and decision-making for nursing practices.
• Promote and improve practice standards and the care environment through leadership and active participation.
• Must be willing to float to Medical ICU or Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU).
• Heavy night and weekend shifts; ideally able to pick up at least one shift per week.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota.
• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Prior travel or per diem nursing experience.
• Trauma care experience.
• Stroke care experience.
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records system.

Preferred Qualifications

• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR).
• Experience in a Level I trauma center environment.

Additional Information

• Dress code: Galaxy Blue Scrubs.
• Nonbillable hours: 4 hours per assignment.
• Strict compliance deadline for onboarding documentation (4 pm Wednesday before start).
• Must list prior work history with this healthcare system or associated facilities on resume.
