Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Travel/Contract Position
Location: Gurnee, Illinois

Job Description
- Provide in-person Speech-Language Pathology services to children.
- Conduct evaluations, eligibility and IEP meetings.
- Provide direct therapy services including RtI support.
- Work with children with speech delays and other special education needs.
- Maintain strong communication and writing skills.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 37.5 billable hours per week.
- Contract Dates: ASAP through 5/29/2026.
Qualifications
- License: Illinois Professional Educator License with Speech Language Pathology endorsement (must be registered in Lake County).
- Education: Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
Required Certifications and Documents
- Illinois Professional Educator License with SLP endorsement verification.
- ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) verification recommended.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC) if applicable.
- State Teaching Certificate and Credential verification as applicable.
- NURSYS Verification (for RNs, LPNs/LVNs, APs if applicable).
- Educational Services - FERPA acknowledgment (updated annually).
- Mandatory Reporter Training (Illinois Mandated Reporter Training with certificate).
- Background checks including:
- Criminal background check within 1 year and updated annually.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 1 year and updated annually.
- HHS/OIG check within 1 year and updated annually.
- Illinois-specific sex offender and violent offender registry searches.
- Fingerprinting: Illinois IL VECHS Fingerprint Results required prior to start; fingerprinting handled by the agency.
- Physical Exam: Required within 90 days of start (Illinois state mandate).
- TB Testing: Negative PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 90 days of start; annual TB questionnaire required.
- Drug Testing: Not required unless specifically requested by client.
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (updated annually).
Additional Notes
- Some health documents such as immunizations (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella), flu vaccination, and COVID-19 vaccination are only required if specified by the client or state.
- Competency exams are generally not required unless requested by the client.
- Skills checklists may be required depending on clinical or non-clinical status.
- Educational Services - State Teaching Certificate and Credential must be verified and uploaded twice: at receipt and 30 days prior to start.
- All required documents and verifications must be uploaded and maintained according to agency and state guidelines.
