Registered Nurse – Hospice Float Pool
Location: Powder Springs, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Hospice Float RN provides patient-centered hospice care across multiple teams and territories as needed. Responsibilities include:
- Patient assessments
- Symptom management
- Caregiver education
- Interdisciplinary collaboration
- Accurate clinical documentation
Requires strong clinical skills, flexibility, and the ability to work independently.
Schedule
- Shift: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each
Requirements
- Active RN license (Georgia or compact license)
- Hospice experience preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
Certifications (as applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
- State License Verification (Primary source online verification)
- NURSYS Verification for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
Background and Compliance Checks
- 7-year background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- Florida AHCA Level II Fingerprint Results (for Florida placements)
- Virginia State Police Background Check (for Virginia placements)
Required Documentation and Health Screenings
- I9 or Attestation
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Physical exam within 6 months of start, confirming freedom from communicable diseases
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within required timeframes)
- Immunization titers and boosters for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination (mask required if declining)
- COVID-19 vaccination or facility-specific declination
Facility-Specific Requirements (must be completed prior to start)
- Passport-style photo for badge
- Contractor Info Form
- Contractor Consent Form
- Conflict of Interest form
- Immunization Statement
- Confidentiality and Security Agreement
- TB Symptom Survey
- Sexual Abuse Policy
- Flu Declination Form (if applicable)
- COVID-19 Vaccine Declination Form (if applicable)
- Code of Conduct
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Competency Exam relevant to profession/specialty
