Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Travel/Contract

Location: Jefferson City, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Role in ED Observation, extending care for ED patients requiring longer stays.
• Requires working rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays (at least 50% of holidays), and during inclement weather.
• Physical demands include ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs.
• Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses.
• Must be able to:

  • Work full term at assigned location
  • Work substantial time of assigned shifts
  • Take call
  • Work assigned weekends and holidays

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in the specialty.
• Prior travel experience required (explicitly stated).

Required Qualifications

Licensure

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Missouri.

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course).

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year.
• Experience working with pediatric patients.
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 60 days of start.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG exclusions checks required within 60 days.
• Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (MO FCSR) or Missouri Caregiver search must be on file within 60 days before starting (only one pending allowed).
• Drug screening: Negative 7-panel drug test within 60 days of start.
• Photo ID and proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. required.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be initiated within 48 hours of signing).
• Fit mask test valid within 1 year (3M 1870+, 1860R, 1860S, or 9205).
• Immunizations/vaccinations required (must be initiated within 48 hours of signing):

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or approved exemption)
  • Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or 2-step PPD within 1 year, updated annually) or chest x-ray if positive TB history
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines; no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer (declinations no longer accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023)
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines; no declinations accepted
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/01 - 03/31)

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within the last 2 years.
• Resume must document at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days.
• Must be able to provide all required documentation and complete facility-specific forms within required timeframes.
