Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Cardiovascular Technologist)

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work shifts: Day/Evening with option for 4x10-hour or 3x12-hour shifts (0630 - 1900)
  • On-call responsibilities on nights and weekends (approximately one night per week and every third weekend)
  • Practice in a technologically advanced interventional procedural area
  • Assist with scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring invasive cardiovascular procedures
  • Opportunity to cross-train in Pediatric and Adult Congenital Invasive Cardiology Program
  • Floating may be required; shifts could be assigned to multiple units or locations based on staffing needs

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular Technologist experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
  • Strong Electrophysiology (EP) and EP Ablation experience required

Required Education

  • Graduate of a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Technologist (CVIS) training program required
  • One year of Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, or Interventional Radiology experience or participation in a CVT apprenticeship program may be considered in lieu of education

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification through AHA only
  • RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification preferred; if a recent graduate meeting education requirements, licensed/certified/registered by appropriate credentialing program preferred
  • Must have Basic Arrhythmia experience and pass a Telemetry test prior to start

Additional Requirements

  • Traveler’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of the primary work site
  • Must pass various background checks and verifications as per facility and agency standards
  • Required to complete facility-specific compliance documents and exams, including Telemetry testing and rhythm interpretation courses if remediation is needed
  • Required to meet health document standards including immunizations, TB testing, drug screening, and vaccine requirements (including flu, MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, etc.) or approved exemptions
  • Must complete Wisconsin state-mandated BID form and caregiver screening prior to start

  • Parking permit required if parking onsite; alternative transportation options available
