Travel/Contract Registered Nurse (PCU/Tele RN)

Location: Dededo, Guam
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Overview

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (PCU/Tele RN)
  • Unit: Telemetry unit with PCU level of care; may include ICU and Med-Surg float
  • Shift: Assigned primarily to one shift (day or night) without preference; schedule finalized after a 4-day window for shift changes
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, flexible to facility needs
  • Holidays: Working holidays required; no holiday work preferences allowed
  • Float: Must be willing to float within scope to Med-Surg and ED Tele overflow; no ICU care outside scope
  • Patient Ratios: 1:4-5

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Preferred 3-5 years experience
  • First-time travelers NOT accepted (prior travel experience required)

Licensure & Certifications

  • Must have Compact or Guam RN license in hand at time of application (no pending licenses accepted)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association provider card, digital certificate required)
  • BLS (American Heart Association provider card, digital certificate required)
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, Conscious Sedation for ER/ICU/CCL)

Additional Requirements

  • Passport in hand required (US passport only; Canadian passports not accepted)
  • No travel partners accepted
  • Must be willing to pick up additional shifts as needed due to census
  • Locals (residing in Guam) are not eligible
  • Return to Office (RTO) requests must be approved before contract start; max 3 consecutive days per 2 weeks, max 7 total days
  • Drug screen (9-panel instant) within 30 days of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Physical exam within 1 year (not required by facility but required by agency)
  • Fit test for approved masks within 1 year, renewed annually (onsite fit testing available)
  • Immunizations and titers required: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine (or approved medical exemption), COVID vaccine strongly preferred (declination form required if not vaccinated)

Orientation & Testing

  • Onsite drug calculations and Basic Knowledge Assessment Tool (BKAT) exams during orientation; must pass with 80% or higher; two attempts allowed
  • Facility-specific nursing modules required (8-12 hours to complete) including:
    • Pressure Injury Training
    • NIH Stroke Scale Training
    • Alaris IV Pumps
    • Pyxis CareFusion
    • FEMA modules (completed onsite)
  • Certificates for all required modules must be uploaded prior to start

Facility & Work Environment

  • Acute Care, Adult Trauma II facility
  • Total staffed beds: 132
  • Charting system: Allscripts/Sunrise
  • Scrub color: Navy blue preferred; any solid color acceptable for most areas
  • Parking: Free with registration and decal

Summary

This is a travel RN position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience (3-5 preferred) in PCU/Telemetry with prior travel experience. Candidates must have a valid Compact or Guam RN license and current ACLS and BLS certifications. The role requires flexibility for weekend and holiday shifts, floating within scope, and completion of facility-specific training and testing. Passport and travel readiness are mandatory. Local candidates are not eligible.
