Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER)

Location: Bethpage, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Nights (7:00 pm - 7:30 am)
• Hours: 48 hours/week preferred (36 hours acceptable)
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Patient Population: Adult and Pediatric
• Competencies: Triage skills required for both adult and pediatric patients

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid New York State RN license
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) preferred
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty or comparable/higher acuity area
• References: 2 clinical references required (supervisor level or above, Charge RNs acceptable)

Additional Requirements

• Must provide interview availability in Eastern Standard Time for the next two business days
• Background checks including 7-year history and various federal/state screenings required
• Physical exam using facility-specific form completed within 30 days prior to start
• Fit test for N95 mask (3M 1860 or Halyard Fluidshield) within 12 months prior to start
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • Seasonal flu vaccination (declinations allowed with case-by-case exemptions)
  • COVID vaccine series preferred
• Drug screening: Standard 9-panel drug test required within 30 days prior to start
• Employment application with 7 years of employment history and explanation of any gaps

Notes

• Locals within 75 miles considered with adjusted pay
• Must meet minimum medication and dysrhythmia/EKG competency exams (minimum 80% score)
• State license verification required within 30 days of start; license issues will result in cancellation

This position is ideal for experienced ER Registered Nurses comfortable with night shifts and working with both adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced environment.
