Job Opportunity: Outpatient Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 4x10 hour shifts
• Patient Population: Mainly outpatient orthopedic patients, ages 10 to geriatric
• Diagnoses: Variety of orthopedic conditions; occasional inpatient cases including weakness, post total knee arthroplasty (TKA), total hip arthroplasty (THA), or abdominal surgery
• Start Date: ASAP
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
• First-time Travelers: Accepted
• Weekend Requirement: None
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
• Block Schedule: Possible at manager’s discretion
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (local radius rule: 70 miles)
• Pending License: Accepted at manager’s discretion
• Holiday/Weekend Rotation: Travelers may be required to participate
• Guaranteed Hours:

  • 3x12-hour shifts: minimum 36 hours/week
  • 4x12-hour shifts: minimum 48 hours/week
  • Shifts less than 12 hours: minimum 40 hours/week
• Shift Cancellation Policy: Up to 8-12 hours off per 4-week period depending on shift length

Required Certifications and Licenses

• Wisconsin State Physical Therapy License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Special Requirements / Skills

• Experience or interest in Geriatrics, Neurology, Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and Outpatient Clinic settings

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Criminal background check within 12 months
• Government-issued photo ID
• I9 and E-Verify documentation
• Residency declaration if working on a compact license from another state
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
• Negative drug screen within 12 months
• TB testing (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT within 12 months) and chest x-ray if applicable
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (if new to facility)
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (annual requirement)
• COVID vaccination preferred
• OSHA Respirator Clearance prior to start (fit testing done onsite during orientation)
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and checklists
• Skills checklist and references as required

Prior Travel Experience

• Not required for this position

This position is ideal for a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience who is comfortable working in an outpatient orthopedic setting and is open to a travel contract in Wisconsin. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
