Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Room (ER) on a travel/contract basis.
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid Michigan RN License
- Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA)
- BLS (AHA)
- PALS (AHA)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years recent RN experience preferred
- Level 1 Trauma experience strongly recommended
- Preferred Certifications:
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
Work Schedule & Requirements
- No call requirement
- Must work every other weekend and holidays as needed (holiday time off not guaranteed)
- Block scheduling not available
- Expected to be clocked in and ready for report at shift start

Required Documentation & Compliance
- Criminal background check (lifetime search, within 45 days of start)
- E-Verify and I-9 documentation

- Immunizations and health documents:

- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 30 days of start
- TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer, no exemptions)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or facility declination)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (for candidates starting after 11/1)
- References: One professional reference from a supervisor or manager required
- Complete employment application/resume with full 7 years work history, no gaps
Additional Facility Requirements
- Michigan LARA fingerprinting within 45 days of start (required for certain positions, check unit specifics)
- Central Registry Clearance (required for pediatric placements and certain specialties)
- Fit mask testing (Bronson requires Honeywell DC365N95HC; must be completed onsite)
- Review and sign facility Code of Conduct and Appearance Standards Policy
- Vaccine exemption forms if applicable (medical or confidential vaccine exemption)
Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (within 1 year prior to assignment, passing score ≥80%)
- Competency Exam in specialty (within 1 year prior to assignment, passing score ≥80%)
