EEG Tech - Richmond, Virginia (Travel/Contract)
Job Summary
- Work in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) performing EEG monitoring and maintenance.
- Cover inpatient EEG requests as needed.
- Must work holidays that fall during scheduled shifts.
- Start date: ASAP.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of EEG tech experience.
- Experience with pediatrics is required.
Required Qualifications
- Must have EMU monitoring experience.
- Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service.
- Permanent state license not required for EEG Tech.
- Background checks including criminal, education verification, and others as per facility policy.
- Required certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA only
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as applicable
- National certification not required for EEG Tech; clinical experience is required.
- Physical exam within 1 year attesting ability to meet physical demands.
- Immunizations and health requirements:
- Tdap vaccine or declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per guidelines
- Titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (boosters if low titer)
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption (no declinations accepted)
- Drug testing within 60 days of start (9-panel minimum, instant screens not accepted).
- Completion of required orientation modules and competency exams.
- Two professional references required.
- Complete application/resume required.
Additional Requirements
- Must comply with fingerprinting and background check requirements specific to Virginia.
- Must complete Virginia Central Registry submission process within 48 hours of contract signing.
- Must complete abuse reporting competency covering physical/sexual abuse, domestic violence, and neglect/exploitation of vulnerable adults.
- Candidates must be able to bring required items to orientation (mask, headphones, laptop/cell phone or notify if unavailable).
