Job Description
- Position: Emergency Room RN, Night Shift, Every Other Week (EOW) schedule
- Required Experience: 3-5 years Level I Trauma ER experience as T1
- Responsibilities: Independently manage Level 1 trauma patients in the Trauma Bay
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: Typically 4:1 or 5:1 depending on assignment area
- Must have experience with Epic electronic health record system
Required Qualifications
- Active Florida RN or Compact Nursing License
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) via AHA or ARC
- BLS (Basic Life Support) via AHA or ARC
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- NIH Stroke Certification (AHA, Apex, Blue Cloud, or equivalent)
- Education: Degree from an accredited school or institution approved by Florida Board of Nursing (FBON)
- Recent acute care experience: Minimum 2 years of consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a U.S. hospital
- Must pass medication/pharmacology competency exam
- Must complete required facility-specific online orientation and training modules (see below)
Additional Requirements
- Physical exam within 6 months of start, signed by DO, MD, NP, APRN, or PA, confirming ability to perform job without restrictions
- Negative QuantiFERON TB test within 6 months (no TSPOT or PPD accepted) or chest X-ray if prior positive
- Annual fit test for approved masks (3M 1860 Regular or Small)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (instant tests not accepted)
- Immunizations or proof of immunity for:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (series, titer, or signed declination)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination preferred (for tracking purposes)
- Two professional references from within the last 2 years
- Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Summary
This is a travel contract position for an experienced Emergency Room RN with Level I Trauma experience, working night shifts every other week in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The role requires strong trauma nursing skills, multiple certifications, and completion of extensive facility-specific training modules. Candidates must hold an active Florida RN license and have recent acute care experience. Prior travel experience is not required.
