Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Escondido, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Nights, 3x12 hour shifts
Schedule Requirements: Weekends required; call may be required
Float: May be required to float between hospitals
Experience & Skills Requirements
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience (highest required years of experience)
- Skills required:
- ICP monitoring
- PA Catheters
- Procedural Sedation
Certifications Required
- Current California RN License at time of submittal
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
Electronic Medical Record System
- Cerner EMR
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- I9 form
- Driver’s License or State ID (front and back copy)
- Background checks including:
- 7-year criminal history
- National criminal search
- Sex offender search
- FACIS Level 3
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
- HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification for RN license
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start (annual renewal for direct hires)
- Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start
- TB screening (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot within 1 year, updated annually)
- Immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series, positive titer, or declination)
- Varicella
- Flu vaccination or declination form (required annually before October 31)
- COVID vaccination preferred; declination accepted with facility-specific form
- Badge photo with white background (no selfies)
Additional Requirements & Testing
- Pass/Fail arrhythmia exam prior to start for ICU and related units
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% pass rate) within 12 months of start
- Unit Specialty Competency Exam (80% pass rate) within 12 months of start
- Core Parts I, II, and III competency exams (80% or above, updated annually)
- Online orientation and assigned training modules via LMS platform
- HIPAA Acknowledgement
- References: 2 required within 3 years from manager, supervisor, or charge RN
- Employment application and annual skills checklist
