Home Health Registered Nurse (Field Nurse)

Location: Silver Spring, Maryland Employment type: Travel/Contract Contract length: 13 weeks Shift: Day, 5x8 hours (8:00 to 17:00), Monday through Friday Guaranteed hours: 40 per week

Role Details

• Assignment: Field nurse visiting patients
• Case types: All diagnosis discharges from hospitals, MD offices, and SNFs
• Productivity: Minimum of 6 points per day, 30 points per week
• Schedule: No weekends, no overtime, no on-call. Open to a block schedule (Monday through Friday).
• Time-off restriction: 1 request

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Valid Maryland RN license, with primary source verification and a hard copy of the license
• Experience: Home health experience, 1 year required, completed within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS): Required, issued by American Heart Association
• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Homecare Homebase: Experience with Homecare Homebase

Background, Health, and Compliance

• Background check: 7-year criminal check within a year of start, updated annually. Must cover all locations lived or worked in the past 7 years, including international searches.
• Exclusion screening: EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG, within 30 days of start and updated with each renewal or extension
• E-Verify: Proof of E-Verify or attestation
• Physical exam: Within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Eye exam: Within 6 months of start, repeated annually. 20/40 corrected vision is the minimum.
• Color blind exam: Within 5 years of start
• Fit test: Within 12 months of start, updated annually. No onsite fit testing, and the fit test must be completed before clearance.
• TB screening: QuantiFERON-TB Gold or TSPOT blood test within 90 days of start, or a two-step TB skin test if a blood test cannot be obtained. A TB questionnaire is required within 30 days of hire and annually after that.
• Immunizations: Tdap within 10 years (must include pertussis). Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella require a positive titer or 2 vaccines, and hepatitis B requires a positive quantitative titer within 5 years.
• Flu vaccine: Required during flu season (October 1 to March 31). Updated documentation is due by November 10 each season. Exemptions go through case-by-case review.
• Drug screen: 11-panel drug screen including cotinine or nicotine and marijuana, within 30 days of start. Failure results in cancellation.
• Facility campus: Smoke-free and nicotine-free
