Registered Nurse – MS/Tele

Location: Lebanon, Pennsylvania Contract Length: 13 weeks Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Schedule

• Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts, 7p–7:30a
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
• Weekends: As needed (likely every other weekend)
• Return to Off (RTO): Maximum 7 days
• Holidays: Travelers must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day). If the contract covers only 2 of these holidays, travelers must work 1 of 2. Requests for more than 1 holiday off are not accepted.
• Orientation: 1 day, then travelers are expected to take assignments.

Assignment Details

• Units and Float Scope:

  • 2East: Occasional stable open heart surgery patients transferred from ICU to med surg, typically day 4–5 post-op
  • 4East: Peritoneal dialysis, respiratory
  • 3South: Cardiac disease and stroke, with CHF and Stroke Program Coordinators working closely with staff on patient education
  • 3East: Joint replacements, observation, and fast turnaround
  • Travelers will float to all MS floors and potentially rehab.
• COVID Patients: May care for COVID-19 patients.
• Environment: Tobacco- and fragrance-free facility. Notify the traveler before submission.
• Interviews: Interviews cannot be guaranteed, and scheduling requests cannot be accommodated. Candidates are reviewed by clinical staff, then sent to the manager for a final decision and interview.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience (2 years)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic

Conditionally Required Certifications

Per the unit or job description, these may be required:

• PALS
• NRP
• TNCC
• NIH Stroke Certification

Background and Documentation

• Criminal Background: 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually. Includes SSN trace, county searches for the last 7 years, and nationwide sex offender search.
• PA PATCH: Accepted if completed within 1 year of start. Must be finalized before start.
• Exclusion Checks: EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG, within 30 days of start, updated every 30 days.
• Medicheck Search: Within 30 days of start, updated every 30 days.
• PA Child Abuse History Certification: Completed within 5 years before start, renewed every 5 years. Must be initiated within 1 week of signing the contract. Results cannot be pending.
• PA FBI Fingerprinting: Required within 1 year of start, renewed every 5 years. Travelers may start with results pending if results are on file within 45 days; an appointment receipt is required.
• Pending Attestation: Required if fingerprint or Childline results are pending at start.
• References: 2 professional references within 3 years of start.
• Employment Application: Most recent resume or application.

Health Requirements

• Physical Exam: Within 90 days of start, signed by an MD, DO, PA, or NP. Must include two identifiers.
• TB: Negative QuantiFERON-Gold or T-SPOT within 90 days of start. PPD is not accepted. If positive, a negative chest X-ray within 1 year of start and an annual TB questionnaire are required.
• Tdap: Within 10 years of start.
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: 2 vaccine doses or a positive titer. Negative or equivocal titers require at least 1 booster.
• Hepatitis B: Declination required. Vaccine records or titers are preferred.
• Flu Vaccine: Vaccination or a valid medical or religious exemption is required during flu season. Declinations are not accepted. Deadlines: 9/27 for new candidates, 10/30 for working candidates.
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Vaccine, medical or religious exemption, or declination.
• Drug Screen: Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start.
• Fit Testing: Required for patient-facing roles within 1 year of start, updated annually. Results must be on file 3 business days before start. Approved mask types apply.

Onboarding

• Learning Modules: RNs must complete all assigned facility modules during onboarding for clearance. Modules must be completed on a PC or laptop, not a cell phone.
• Facility Documents: Code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, non-employee affidavit, commitment to health and wellness, and review of the facility's Wellspan Way description.
• Vehicle Registration: Required if parking a vehicle on facility property.
• Badge Photo: Clear, passport-style headshot with a solid light-colored background.
