ER Registered Nurse (RN)

Overview

• Location: Kingman, Arizona
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Evening, 3 x 12-hour shifts, 14:00 – 2:30
• Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Assignment Details

• Unit: Primary ED (ER)
• Float Scope: May be required to float to OBS occasionally

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Valid RN license in Arizona, verified through primary source online verification
• Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience:

  • ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
  • ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS
  • TNCC
• Identification: Government-issued photo ID; clear passport-style photo with a solid background for badge

Background and Screening

• Background check: 7-year search completed within 30 days of start, including county searches for the last 7 years of locations lived, worked, or attended school; nationwide sex offender search; and education verification. Updated annually.
• Exclusion checks: EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG, required annually
• Transcript/diploma: Required
• Drug screen: 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable; no annual renewal

Health and Immunizations

• Physical exam: Within 1 year of start; not required annually
• Fit test: Within 1 year of start; updated annually
• TB screening: Negative PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-Spot within 1 year of start, updated annually. A past positive chest X-ray within 5 years of start, plus an annual TB questionnaire, is accepted in place of a negative test.
• Rubeola, mumps, rubella: Titer, or 2 MMR doses at least 28 days apart, for candidates born in 1957 or later. Candidates born before 1957 must confirm they will follow the client's 1957 rule.
• Hepatitis B: Titer, declination, or 3-dose vaccine series
• Varicella: Titer, 2 vaccines at least 4 weeks apart, or history of chickenpox
• Influenza: Vaccine or declination required during flu season (10/1 – 3/31)

Competencies, Forms, and Checklists

• Competency exams: Medication/pharmacology competency exam, and competency exam, both as applicable by profession and specialty
• Skills checklist: Required annually
• Facility-specific documents (complete as a priority): Agency attestation (APN portion completed by agency), employee security and confidentiality agreement, behavioral expectations, right-to-know training, HIPAA and information security training, agency candidate form, and facility job description
