Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU

Location: Anniston, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

• Work every other week (EOW) schedule; float to MedSurg units
• Patient ratios approximately 1:5
• Work settings include MedSurg/Telemetry, Telemetry, and PCU/Stepdown units
• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
• Must be able to start IVs, manage Heparin protocols, and cardiac drips (no titration)
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Local candidates considered within a 60-mile radius

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current Alabama Registered Nurse license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - required based on unit (not required for MedSurg RN)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - required based on unit
• National certification/verification as applicable
• Primary source verification of state license prior to start
• NURSYS verification prior to start

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alabama
• Minimum 1 year of PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience, including recent experience within the last year
• Experience in Med Surg / Telemetry units
• ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health & Background Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 12 months of start
• Tdap vaccination or declination within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within past 12 months; TB questionnaire if test expires during assignment
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (patient-facing only)
• 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (mask required if declined)
• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked in last 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification (official transcript, diploma, or third-party verification)

Additional Information

• Schedules cannot be adjusted once contract is confirmed; all requested time off must be included at confirmation
• No accommodation for other per diem schedules or contracts
• Candidates must review and sign traveler attendance policy prior to start
