Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in an academic Level 1 trauma center environment. The role involves working evening and night shifts (8 or 12 hours) with every other weekend rotation, holidays, and on-call shifts every 6 weeks.
Work Schedule
- Evening/Night shifts: 1900-0730, 2300-0730, 1500-2300
- Every other weekend rotation
- Holidays and 1 on-call shift every 6 weeks
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care
- Administer aerosolized medications, volume expansion, airway clearance techniques, tracheostomy care, and sputum inductions
- Manage non-invasive ventilation, high flow, and mechanical ventilation in IMC and ICU settings
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and families to develop and evaluate patient care plans
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Additional Requirements
- Traveler’s permanent address must be within 50 miles of the primary work site
- Flexibility to float to multiple units or locations as staffing needs require
Compliance & Documentation
- Background checks including criminal, employment, and education verifications required
- State-specific caregiver screening and licensing verifications required
- Various health documents including immunizations, TB testing, and drug screening required
- Facility-specific competency exams and orientation acknowledgments required
- Annual renewal and testing requirements for certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP as applicable
