Occupational Therapist - Acute Care Hospital (Travel/Contract)

Location: Wayne, New Jersey
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide occupational therapy services in an acute care hospital setting.
• May float between Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) and inpatient units.
• No weekends or on-call duties required.
• Focus on adult and geriatric evaluation and treatment.
• Experience required with neurological patient populations.
• Preferred skills: PAMs (Physical Agent Modalities), MoCA (Montreal Cognitive Assessment), resting hand splint fabrication/use.
• Charting performed in Cerner Millennium.
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs; acrylic/artificial nails prohibited; nails must be clean, short, and non-distracting polish only.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Occupational Therapist license in New Jersey
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience

• Required: Experience working with neurological populations.
• Preferred: Experience with PAMs, MoCA, and resting hand splints.
• No explicit prior travel experience required.

Compliance and Documentation

• Criminal background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including international searches if applicable.
• Employment application, skills checklist, and work history verification (minimum 1 year prior work history verified with allowable 30-day gaps).
• Two professional references or evaluations required.
• Completion and signing of facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgment, conflict of interest policy, confidentiality statement, code of conduct, contract worker process validation, and ID badge request form.
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required.
• Competency exams including medication/pharmacology exam required.
• Nursys license verification required.
• NIH Stroke Certification and Stroke-related CEUs not specifically required for this role (not ER/ICU).
