Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: San Francisco, California
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a travel/contract position. The shift is 4x8 hour shifts, PM (2300-0730), with weekend rotation required. No on-call duties. Floating as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in California
- Minimum 3 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS Stroke Certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Shift Details
- 4 shifts per week, 8 hours each
- PM shift: 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Weekend rotation required
- No on-call
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check within 6 months of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, FACIS Level 3 screening, and other federal/state checks required and updated annually
- Education verification (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit test within 1 year, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or facial hair)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (11/1-4/30) or signed declination
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually
- Other competency exams and certifications as applicable (e.g., medication/pharmacology competency, EKG competency)
- Employment history verification for 7 years with no gaps over 30 days
Additional Notes
- Candidates must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start.
- TB questionnaire must be completed within 90 days of start and renewed annually.
- ICU RNs at this facility are required to take an EKG exam onsite after start.
- Religious exemptions for certain requirements (e.g., vaccines, fit testing) are considered on a case-by-case basis with required documentation.
