Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: San Francisco, California
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a travel/contract position. The shift is 4x8 hour shifts, PM (2300-0730), with weekend rotation required. No on-call duties. Floating as needed.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California
Minimum 3 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS Stroke Certification
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Shift Details

4 shifts per week, 8 hours each
PM shift: 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
Weekend rotation required
No on-call

Background and Compliance Requirements

7-year background check within 6 months of start
EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, FACIS Level 3 screening, and other federal/state checks required and updated annually
Education verification (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
Physical exam within 1 year of start
Fit test within 1 year, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or facial hair)
Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B series or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (11/1-4/30) or signed declination
Respiratory safety clearance required annually
Other competency exams and certifications as applicable (e.g., medication/pharmacology competency, EKG competency)
Employment history verification for 7 years with no gaps over 30 days

Candidates must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation prior to start.
TB questionnaire must be completed within 90 days of start and renewed annually.
ICU RNs at this facility are required to take an EKG exam onsite after start.
Religious exemptions for certain requirements (e.g., vaccines, fit testing) are considered on a case-by-case basis with required documentation.
