Location: Santa Monica, California

Job Details

  • Shift: 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
    • Flexible option for 4 days a week, 10 hours per day available
  • Specialty: Outpatient Hand Therapy
  • Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of prior experience in outpatient hand therapy
  • Weekend Requirement: No
  • On-call Requirement: No
  • Floating Requirement: No

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • License: Valid Occupational Therapist license for California
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Current and valid Driver’s License or government-issued photo ID
  • Background checks including:
    • Social Security Trace
    • 7-year National Criminal History Search (County searches)
    • National Sex Offender Search
    • FACIS level 3 search (includes OFAC)
  • Education verification (Diploma or official transcripts acceptable)
  • Physical exam within the last year (updated annually)
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Negative TB test (QGold within 1 year) or Chest X-Ray if applicable
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declination accepted if signed within past year)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or proof of vaccination)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or proof of vaccination series)
    • Varicella (positive titer or proof of vaccination)
    • Seasonal Flu vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
    • COVID-19 vaccine or declination (per current guidelines)
  • Drug screening (9-panel within last 12 months)
  • Completion of facility-specific onboarding documents and training modules, including:
    • HIPAA training
    • Harassment prevention training (California mandated)
    • Facility-specific confidentiality and abuse reporting agreements
    • Online education modules and competency exams as required

References & Employment History

  • Two professional references required (supervisor level or above), with at least one reference from the past year
  • Employment application covering last 7 years with explanations for any gaps over 30 days
  • Work history verification for last 5 years

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist
  • Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience in an outpatient setting

Additional Notes

  • First-time travel therapists are welcome to apply (no prior travel experience required)
  • No weekend or on-call shifts required
  • Facility-specific photo for badge required within 72 hours of signing contract
  • Various competency exams and certifications may be required depending on unit or specialty
