Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU/MS/Tele) - Travel/Contract

Job Description

• Seeking an RN with Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Medical-Surgical (MS), and Telemetry (Tele) experience due to a high-acuity patient population.
• Must have MS/Tele experience within the last year.
• Patient population includes med-surg patients up to vented/intubated/trached patients.
• Patients often have conditions such as post open-heart surgery, cystic fibrosis, vent weaning, pulmonary fibrosis, and sepsis from wounds.
• ICU nurses often float to LTACH due to patient acuity.
• Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts.
• Float required.
• Every third weekend required (8 weekend shifts per contract).
• Self-scheduling available.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5.
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a reduced rate.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
• Experience in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) and Telemetry nursing
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Prior Travel Experience

• Not explicitly required.

Facility & Work Environment

• 352 certified beds.
• Level II Trauma and Stroke Center.
• Uses EPIC for charting.
• Free parking available.

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually).
• Fit mask testing completed onsite.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity/declination required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (not required annually).
• Seasonal flu vaccination required or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt).
• Background checks including criminal, employment, education verification, and federal exclusions.
• Professional references (2) within 3 years of start.
• Employment application and skills checklist required.
• Missouri EDL search required within 30 days of start.

Additional Notes

• Float to other units as needed.
• Candidates must review and sign confidentiality and code of conduct agreements.
• Orientation and competency testing required prior to start.
• Self-scheduling and weekend shifts are part of the contract.

This position is ideal for RNs with recent PCU/MS/Telemetry experience looking for a travel contract in a high-acuity LTACH setting.
