Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Current Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including comprehensive multi-level searches.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated annually.
• Sex offender search within 90 days of start.
• Education verification (diploma or transcript) as applicable.
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (Marijuana testing not accepted).
• Physical exam within 12 months of start, verifying ability to perform job duties and free of communicable diseases.
• Fit mask test within one year prior to start (N95 or equivalent).
• Immunization and health documentation required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per facility protocol
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or boosters as needed
  • Hepatitis B titer, proof of series, or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption with weekly testing if exempt

Competency and Training Requirements

• Unit-specific competency exams with minimum passing score of 80%.
• Fall prevention competency exam required for all travelers.
• Harassment prevention training certificate, updated annually.
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required prior to start.
• Facility-specific mandatory annual training and policies must be reviewed and signed prior to assignment.

Documentation and Other Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or state ID) with front and back copies.
• Social Security card may be required if used on I-9.
• Professional references: 2 professional references verifying recent experience within last 24 months.
• Resume/application demonstrating required experience must be submitted.
• Skills checklist specific to Labor and Delivery unit required.
• Badge photo meeting facility standards required prior to start.

Summary

This is a night shift Labor and Delivery RN travel contract position in California with a 13-week duration. Candidates must have a valid California RN license, required certifications including ACLS, BLS, NRP, and EFM, and meet comprehensive background, health, and competency requirements. Prior travel experience is required, or alternatively, 2 years of acute care hospital experience. Compliance with all facility-specific training, documentation, and immunization policies is mandatory.
