Registered Nurse - MS Telemetry Nights
Location: Orangeburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Shift: 3x12 hour nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (non-negotiable)
- On-call: No
- Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
- Unit: New unit, building from ground up with bedside monitors capable of telemetry, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry
- Current Beds Open: 10 beds
- Staffing: 2 RNs and 1 tech per shift
- Leadership: No off-shift management scheduled, but leadership available by phone; 24/7 house supervisor coverage
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
Additional Requirements
- Background Checks: Must include 7 years of work/living history, SSN trace, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, and other standard screenings
- Education Verification: Required; diploma or transcripts preferred as placeholder if verification pending
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam updated annually
- Immunizations and titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold within 90 days) or chest x-ray if positive history
- Flu vaccine required during flu season or medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted)
- COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Competency Exams: Medication/pharmacology competency exam and color blindness test required prior to start
- Photo for Badge: Passport-style photo with solid light background, business casual attire, frontal view only

- Acute care hospital setting with 286 staffed beds
- Charting system: Epic
- Parking: No cost
- Hurricane season (June-November) may require emergency response team participation; travelers should consider this before accepting assignments during this period
- Facility allows calling off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Local candidates accepted
