Job Description
Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric experience for a travel contract position. The role involves working 8-hour day shifts with responsibilities in pulmonary function testing and respiratory diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pulmonary function tests including plethysmography and spirometry.
- Assist with bronchoscopy procedures.
- Float to other facilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in California
- Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
- Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Pediatric Critical Care experience.
- Pulmonary Rehabilitation experience.
Certifications Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA certified.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – AHA certified.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – AHA certified.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – AHA/AAP certified.
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Valid government-issued photo ID matching professional license.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history and various federal/state databases.
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcript.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, including physician statement of fitness.
- Fit mask test within 1 year (specific mask types required).
- Immunizations and titers: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, TB tests, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
- Drug testing (standard 9 panel excluding THC) within 30 days of start.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination.
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption as per facility policy.
- Completion of facility-specific learning modules and competency exams.
- Pass/fail Telemetry exam on first day (specific to nursing but may be relevant for float pool staff).
- References: Two supervisory references required, preferably from most recent employment.
- Updated resume with last 7 years of work history; gaps over 30 days must be explained.
