Job Description

Seeking a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse with experience in Epic Stork system. The role involves circulating and fetal heart monitoring (FHM) with some preference for scrub and OB assist skills. The nurse will float within scope to Mother-Baby Unit (MBU) or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as needed.

  • Patient ratio: 1:2
  • Average daily deliveries: 5
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
  • On-call: Not required
  • Block scheduling: Not guaranteed
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Locals accepted

Special Equipment Used:

  • Triton for Quantitative Blood Loss (QBL) (AI technology)
  • Surgicount
  • Monica Novii

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
    • AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Heart Rate certification (Intermediate or Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring)
  • Experience with Epic Stork system

Additional Requirements

  • Background checks including lifetime criminal, education verification, and federal/state screenings
  • Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
  • Fit mask (N95) certification, updated annually
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • Drug testing within 30 days prior to start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
  • COVID vaccination documentation or declination on file
  • References: Two references required, including one from current or recent supervisor within last 2 years
  • Employment application and work history verification (minimum 2 years)
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation and competency modules prior to start

  • Level II Trauma Center
  • Charting system: Epic
  • Scrub color: Navy blue
  • Floating to MBU or NICU units as needed

Notes

  • Facility may provide access to Fetal Heart Rate monitoring system prior to assignment to meet certification requirements
  • No excessive time off requests allowed
  • Guaranteed hours per billing rules
  • Candidates must complete required facility-specific documents and training modules before start date

This position is suitable for nurses with solid Labor & Delivery experience, Epic Stork proficiency, and required certifications who are open to travel assignments in Virginia.
