Registered Nurse - MS/Tele
Location: Orangeburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Floating: Yes, may need to float within scope to like units or sister facilities
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
- License: South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license required prior to start
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
- NIH Stroke Certification preferred
- Competencies: Telemetry competency required
- Preferred: Previous charge nurse experience and community hospital experience
Additional Requirements
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis
- Facility allows calling off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Must complete all required background checks, verifications, and health documents prior to start
- Must complete facility-specific orientation modules and training before starting
- Must provide a clear, passport-style badge photo prior to start
- Must comply with all vaccination and health screening requirements, including:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
- Flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption during flu season
- COVID vaccination preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 90 days of start
- Annual respirator medical clearance required for patient-facing roles
- Must complete medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Must provide proof of 2 clinical references
- Must have work history verification for last 3 clinical employers

- Acute Care Hospital, Level III Trauma Center
- Total staffed beds: 286
- Charting system: Epic
- Parking: No cost
- Hurricane season (June-November) may require emergency response team participation
Notes
- Approval for block scheduling can be requested but is not guaranteed
- Travelers may be required to complete radiation badge process if assigned to units requiring it
- All certifications must be current and not expiring within 30 days of assignment start date
- Facility-specific physical assessments and health documents may be required for certain roles (e.g., sterile processing)
This position is suitable for experienced RNs comfortable with night shifts, telemetry monitoring, and working in a community hospital setting with a moderate patient ratio. Prior travel experience is not required.
