Unit and Patient Population

• Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Unit with short stay and observation patients
• RN to patient ratio typically 1:6 or 1:7

Shift Details

• Day shifts only
• Options: 3 shifts per week (3x12 hours) or 4 shifts per week (4x12 hours)
• Shift hours: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
• Minimum of 1 year of Telemetry experience, with Telemetry experience within the last year
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Ability to float within scope of practice

Experience

• Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; standard RN experience expected for Telemetry unit
• No prior travel experience explicitly required

Orientation and Scheduling

• Orientation occurs bi-weekly
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Schedule is based on a 36/48 hour pay period over two weeks

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including a comprehensive 9-panel drug screen (no THC) with expanded opiates and oxycodone, run through a specified vendor within 30 days prior to start; annual updates required
• Employment application and resume with education and work history
• Verification of 7-year work history through a third-party vendor or attestation letters
• Two professional references within 1 year of start date (one must be a supervisor)
• Annual physical exam or physician statement within 1 year prior to start, indicating clearance to work without restrictions
• Immunizations and health documentation:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (valid within 10 years; Td not accepted)
  • Negative TB test via QuantiFERON blood test within 1 year (T-Spot/PPD not accepted)
  • TB questionnaire if positive TB history
  • Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titers for measles, mumps, and rubella
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination (declination must be within 1 year)
  • Proof of 2 varicella vaccinations or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (must apply within 48 hours of offer acceptance)
• Competency exams required annually:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency (required for Telemetry; must be updated annually)
  • Core competencies Part I, II, and III
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
• NURSYS verification of RN license prior to start
• Primary source verification of state license prior to start and upon expiration
• Facility-specific signed and dated job description, renewed annually
• Fit mask testing completed onsite (PAPRs not accommodated; exemptions reviewed onsite)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card not required for this unit (only required for ER and Psych)
• Must provide proof of completion for OSHA respirator medical evaluation, TB risk assessment, and flu vaccine/exemption upload screenshots as applicable

• Candidates must not be submitted to more than one job at a time
• Driver’s license required in submission packet
• Assignment confirmation must be uploaded within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Ratios and schedules may fluctuate based on census and call-ins
