Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: La Jolla, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• 10-hour day shifts, Monday to Friday (6:45 AM – 5:30 PM)
• 7-10 call shifts per month

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in California
• Minimum 1 year of recent Interventional Radiology Technologist experience
• BLS certification (Basic Life Support)
• ARRT certification
• CRT or Fluoroscopy certification (must have at time of application)
• Availability for interview

Experience

• Minimum years of specialty experience: Not explicitly stated, but IR experience is required (assume at least 1 year)
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Certifications & Compliance

• Must complete and maintain required certifications before start:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist)
  • ARRT rad fluoro permit
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
• Tdap vaccine required (no declinations accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccination required or approved medical/religious exemption
• Flu vaccination or documented declination required annually
• N95 fit test within 1 year prior to start (specific approved mask models required)
• 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start

Documentation & Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check including:

  • SSN trace
  • County, state, federal, and national criminal searches
  • National sex offender search
• HHS/OIG check required
• Employment application and two satisfactory references required
• Skills checklist required
• Primary source verification of California license within 30 days of start (visual verification with signature, initials, date, and title)
• Completion of facility-specific documentation including standards of conduct, confidentiality agreement, and validation of qualifications
• Completion of facility learning modules (approx. 8 hours) prior to start

Additional Facility Requirements

• No scrub color requirement; scrubs provided by facility
• Experience with EPIC or Cerner electronic health records preferred (6 months minimum recommended)
• Pyxis acknowledgment required for RNs and respiratory care practitioners prior to start
• Must complete vaccine attestation form regardless of vaccination status

Notes

• Radiation badges are supplied to RNs working in Interventional Radiology but are not required for this role
• Facility does not provide onsite N95 fit testing; travelers must bring their own approved mask or PAPR if needed
