Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Float

Location: Wichita Falls, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Support primarily Medical-Surgical units with floating duties.
Start date preferred within the next 3-5 weeks.
Must be willing to work weekends as needed, which may include most weekends during the contract.
Block scheduling may be accommodated, but set schedules cannot be guaranteed.
Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required.
Prior travel experience strongly preferred.
Experience with Epic electronic health records system strongly preferred.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with at least 2 years of experience in PCU Float (Progressive Care Unit).
Medical-Surgical experience within the last year.
Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
- CHEMO (Chemotherapy certification).
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course).
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring).
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course).
- NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale Certification).
Tech Cert Verification - National.
Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement.
State License 1 Verification.
NURSYS Verification.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Government-issued photo ID.
I9 or attestation.
Background check within 1 year, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, and sex offender registry.
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
State RN license verification within 30 days of start.
Drug testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year.
Physical exam within 1 year, must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
Immunizations and health screenings (must be current or completed within 72 hours of contract signing):
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD or equivalent within 1 year)
- Rubeola (Measles) - 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
- Mumps - 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
- Rubella - 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
- Hepatitis B - positive titer, series, or declination
- Varicella - 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox
- Seasonal flu vaccination (or approved medical/religious exemption)
- COVID-19 vaccination documentation
Drug testing plan must be in place within 72 hours of contract signing.
Annual updates required for some documents and competencies.

Must be agreeable to floating assignments.
References: 2 references required within 3 years of start.

Skills checklist required and must be updated annually.
Orientation and facility-specific compliance forms must be completed prior to start.

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses comfortable with flexible scheduling and floating across units, with a preference for those who have prior travel nursing experience and Epic system knowledge.
