Job Opportunity: Infusion Nurse (Registered Nurse)
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Setting: Outpatient Clinic Infusion
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6-7
- Experience Required: Minimum 1+ years in Outpatient Infusion or Oncology (Chemotherapy Certified)
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Schedule: 1 Saturday per month; no Sundays
- No block scheduling approved
- Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and EPIC charting
- May float between multiple outpatient infusion locations as needed
- Scrub color is flexible
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey
- Minimum of 1 year of infusion experience, with infusion experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Certifications & Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Chemotherapy certification required (ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate for adults; APHON for pediatrics)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) not required for Oncology Chemo Certified RN
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (confirm with coordinator)
Work Schedule
- 1 Saturday per month required
- No Sundays
- No block scheduling
Additional Requirements
- Must complete background checks and verifications including criminal background, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific exclusions
- Drug screening within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within the last 12 months confirming ability to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per facility policy
- Fit testing and respiratory medical clearance required prior to start
- Annual influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
- Completion of medication and competency exams within 72 hours of signing contract
- Pass/fail testing for pharmacology and EKG competency required
- References: 2 references within last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
- Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history required
- Skills checklist to be completed and updated annually
