Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, Days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- Rotation: Every other weekend, holidays as needed
- Float required across multiple facilities
- Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and pediatrics
- Common diagnoses: Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Substance Abuse
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience within the last year
- Previous Charge RN experience
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- STARR certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Experience in Charge nurse roles
Licensure
- Primary source license verification required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS verification required within 60 days of start
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification (Associate’s degree in nursing or higher)
- Transcript/Diploma as proof of highest education
- Health documents including:
- Physical exam (if applicable)
- Fit mask test (annual)
- Immunizations: Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine or approved exemption
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days
- References: 2 supervisory references required from recent assignments (within 12 and 24 months)
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Work history verification for last 5 years
Additional Information
- Zero tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Candidates must be flexible with scheduling and floating between facilities
- Orientation Safety Manual and Facility-specific policies must be reviewed and acknowledged
- EPIC electronic health record system experience preferred
- Candidates must complete a mandatory questionnaire prior to offer
- Facility requires strict photo standards for badges (no selfies, hats, filters, etc.)
