Job Opportunity: Ultrasound Tech - General

Location: Leominster, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Description

• Perform ultrasound imaging with experience in the following areas: Vascular, Breast, GYN, Abdominal.
• Overnight call coverage required from 7 PM to 7 AM during the week, with some weekend coverage. Overnight call is limited to ectopics and torsions.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with experience within the last year.
• ARDMS certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID.

• Massachusetts Statewide (iCORI) Release required prior to start.

• 7-year Criminal Background Check within 30 days of start, including SSN Trace, County, National Criminal, NSOR, OIG, and SAME checks.

• Education verification of highest completed education (transcript acceptable if verification is unperformable).

• Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry Search (tracking only).

• Physical exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness to work without restrictions.

• Drug testing within 30 days of start (specific drug panels required).

• Immunizations or valid declinations required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity).
  • MMR, Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, NICU).
  • Hepatitis B (3-dose series, reactive titer, or declination with documentation).
  • Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, documented history, or declination).
  • Seasonal Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination during flu season.
  • COVID-19 vaccination (most recent) or facility-specific declination.

• Tuberculosis screening:

  • Two PPD tests (one within 90 days, one within 1 year) or QuantiFERON/T-Spot within 90 days.
  • Positive TB requires chest X-ray within 5 years and facility-specific TB questionnaire.

• Pass/fail testing: Medication exam required for all RNs and LPNs (not applicable here but noted for awareness).

• References: Two references within three years of start.

• Employment application covering 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days.

• Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually as applicable.

Additional Notes

• This position does not require prior travel experience; first-time travelers are welcome.
• Overnight call is limited and specific to certain cases (ectopics & torsions).
• Scheduling is midweek with some weekend call responsibilities.
• Compliance with all background checks, immunizations, and documentation is mandatory before start.
