Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry

Location: Marrero, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: General Medical-Surgical with COVID, TB, and negative pressure rooms
• Shift: Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
• Schedule Options:

  • Alternating 3x12 and 4x12 shifts every other week, or
  • Straight 4x12 shifts
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• Holiday Requirement: At least 2 of 3 major holidays
• On-Call: No
• Float Requirement: Yes

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Background Checks: Must be current within 6 months and cover all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years, including social security trace, nationwide criminal, sex offender, federal exclusions, and others as required.
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start date (includes marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, etc.)
• Immunizations and Health Screenings:

  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (declinations accepted with proper documentation)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (two-step skin test or equivalent)
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR): proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titer low
  • Varicella: proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titer low
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination signed within 12 months
  • Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31), with exemptions and declinations accepted
• Physical Exam: Not required by employer but may be required by placement agency within 12 months of start

Additional Information

• Return to Office (RTO): Less than 5 days or additional time added to end of contract
• Employment Application: Must include 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days
• Appearance Policy: Must comply with employer’s employee appearance standards

This position is ideal for experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RNs comfortable with night shifts, telemetry monitoring, and working in a dynamic hospital environment with infectious disease precautions.
