ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Dothan, Alabama
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night shift, options for 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts based on preference
• Schedule: Block scheduling with every other week (EOW) required
• Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Radius Rule: Candidate must live at least 90 miles from the facility (no local candidates)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alabama
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License matching the name on RN license
• Social Security Card or confirmation of last four digits of SSN
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, sex offender registry, education verification, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG checks (must be current within 30 days of start)
• NURSYS license verification and proof of license renewal if applicable before start
• HIPAA attestation and completion of Core Exams I-III (preferred from Prophecy; RN network Orientation Module not accepted)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Physical exam updated annually confirming ability to meet job demands
• Annual fit mask test (specific approved mask models required)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Drug screening: 10-panel test within 90 days of start (instant/rapid tests not accepted)
• Proof of 2 clinical references within the last 12 months (up to 18 months if necessary)
• Completion of facility-specific orientation safety manual acknowledgment
• Completion of facility-assigned modules prior to orientation (deadline: Friday before start week)
• Photo for badge: passport-style headshot without nose ring, submitted within 72 hours of signing contract
• Shirley’s Law APS Clearance Form and results (time sensitive, must be completed prior to orientation)
• Flu vaccination required for placements starting on or after September 15; no declinations accepted (medical/religious exemptions require facility form and mask wearing)
• COVID vaccination is voluntary

• No prior permanent employment at this facility within the last 10 years
• Candidate must confirm all position details (shift, location, housing) and be ready to sign contract if offered
• Preferred badge name must be confirmed before start
• Facility will provide NIH Stroke Certification training after candidate clearance (required for all RNs except Pediatrics, NICU, and Surgery)
