MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Perform high-quality MRI examinations on patients following established protocols for physician interpretation. Work under general supervision and report to the site supervisor and radiology manager.
Schedule
- Standard Shift: Monday to Friday, 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
- Alternative Shifts Considered:
- 4x10-hour shifts (10:30 AM – 9:00 PM)
- 3x12-hour shifts (8:30 AM – 9:00 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: Saturdays 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM on a rotating basis
- Total weekly hours remain 40 whether working Saturday or not
- No call requirement
- Possible float between two outpatient clinic locations
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Certification: ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT required (state license NOT required)
- BLS certification required
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Physical exam within 90 days prior to start, cleared to work without restrictions
- Fit test for N95 mask within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually (specific mask models required)
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
- MMR vaccines or positive titers (Measles declination NOT accepted)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella vaccination, documented history, or declination
- Drug screening: 10-panel urine drug screen within 90 days prior to start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required annually (no declinations accepted)
- COVID vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
- Radiation exposure attestation required prior to start
Additional Notes
- Radius rule: Must live within 60 miles of the facility
- Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Facility uses Epic for charting
- Dress code: Teal tops and black pants
- Parking is free
- Hurricane season (June-November) may require emergency response team participation; avoid confirming new or extension assignments during peak months (August-September) if this is a concern
