Role Overview

• Travel/contract RN position in Los Angeles, California
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• May float to Med-Surg
• Heavy orthopedic patient mix
• Accepts first-time travelers

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with Epic

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIH Stroke Certification

Schedule / Assignment Expectations

• Every other weekend coverage required
• No call required
• No RTO during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• RTO must be submitted with the application and cannot be changed after submission except to cancel requested time

Clinical Skills / Unit Experience

• Telemetry unit care with general medical-surgical and orthopedic surgical patients
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• On-unit and remote telemetry monitoring
• Rapid response team use
• Post-cardiac angiogram care
• Post-MI care
• Pre/post cardiac cath care
• Pre/post cardiac surgery care
• Blood product administration
• Central line care/management
• PICC line management
• Starting IVs
• Heparin protocols
• Cardiac drips without titration
• Vasoactive drips without titration
• Chest tubes
• External CPAP/BIPAP
• High-flow nasal cannula
• Nasal cannula
• Non-invasive airway management
• Oxygen face masks
• Tracheostomy management

• EPIC experience required
• Scrub color: royal blue
• Patient population: adolescents through geriatrics
