PACU Registered Nurse

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Saint Louis, Missouri
• 12-week assignment
• Day shift: 4x10 hours, 9:00–19:30 or 10:00–20:30
• Monday through Friday
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• On-call required: 24 hours per 6-week scheduling period
• No weekends, nights, or holidays
• Floating is within the service line
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility

Setting

• Pre-op and PACU coverage in a same-day surgery environment
• Short-term acute care, teaching, Level I trauma setting
• Must be able to work both pre-op and post-op
• Rapid pace and quick turnover are emphasized

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (1 year of experience)
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
• Experience with Epic
• Ability to manage complicated postoperative patients, including:

  • Multiple drains
  • Vasoactive drips
  • Mechanical ventilation
  • Recovery from general anesthesia
• EKG rhythm analysis, transfusion, blood drawing, and IV starts
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Must pass a Relias EKG exam
• Pending license accepted
