Overview

Travel/Contract role in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–7:15.
36 hours per week.
Contract length: 12 weeks.
Adults and geriatrics.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana.
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience.
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
Experience in an acute care setting.
Dialysis experience.
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association.

Unit / Clinical Details

General medicine and renal patients requiring dialysis.
Common diagnoses include AKI, CKD, ESRD, DM, COVID+, COPD exacerbation, wound infection, PVD/PAD, GI bleed, clotted AV fistulas, cellulitis, and general med/surg diagnoses.
Procedures may include cholecystectomy, appendectomy, wound debridements, central line and dialysis access placements, and amputations.
Remote telemetry monitoring by tele tech.
Peritoneal dialysis managed by the patient and dialysis nurse.
Wound vacs used.
Float requirement: yes, agency pulled first.

Additional Notes

First-time travelers are accepted.
Must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
Candidate may be assigned to an Emergency Team during an emergency event.
