Unit Overview
Mixed-acuity surgical oncology unit caring for PCU and Med Surg patients. Adults and geriatrics.
Patient Care Focus
- Surgical oncology
- Hepatobiliary cancers
- Colorectal cancer
- Reconstructive breast cancer or sarcoma
- Chemotherapy
- Blood transfusions
- IV antibiotics
- Oncologic emergencies
- Cytokine release syndrome
- Insulin drips
- Heparin drips
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Oncology (2 years of experience)
- Oncology experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Surgical Oncology experience
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
Preferred
- ONS Chemo
Additional Notes
- Travelers may be required to float within scope of practice
- Rotating day/night scheduling may occur based on department needs
- No set or blocked scheduling
- Weekend schedule varies based on unit needs
- EPIC charting is used

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
