Job Opportunity: OR RN Days/Eves Rotate and Every Other Weekend (40 hrs/week)

Unit Description

• Operating Room (OR) in a Level III Trauma center
• Complex community setting
• Patient population includes Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric patients
• Unit bed count: 15
• Daily census: approximately 30-40 patients
• EMR system: EPIC

Work Schedule

• 40 hours per week
• Rotating shifts including Days, Evenings (1pm–11:30pm), and Weekends
• Rotation pattern: 1-2 weekend shifts and 1-2 evening shifts per 4-week schedule
• On-call required: 1 holiday call, 2-3 weekday calls, and 1-2 weekend calls per 4-week schedule
• Weekend shifts include on-call hours after shift end (e.g., working Saturday 7am–5:30pm, on-call 5:30pm–11pm)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Mako surgical systems
• Experience with Da Vinci surgical systems

Required Credentials and Compliance

• Primary source verification of RN license and certifications within 30 days of start date; must be updated upon expiration
• N95 Fit Test within 365 days prior to start date; no exemptions allowed
• Respirator Medical Clearance attestation (if fit test required)
• TB screening: documentation of negative TB skin test or blood test within 3 months of start date; updated if break >6 months
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity documentation or vaccination records
• Physician health statement within 365 days of start date; updated if break >6 months
• Criminal background check, Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, national sex offender check, and exclusion checks completed within required timeframes
• Medication exam with 80% passing score within 365 days
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission
• Submission requirements include resume (7 years work history), 2 references (minimum 1 supervisor), and candidate submission coversheet

Additional Information

• Floating to other units is not required
• Rotation to night shifts is not required
• No religious or medical exemptions allowed for fit testing
• All credentialing and compliance requirements must be met prior to or upon onboarding

This position is ideal for experienced OR RNs seeking a rotating day/evening/weekend schedule in a trauma-level operating room with advanced surgical technology exposure.
