Adult Psych RN

Overview

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment type: Long-term assignment
Schedule: 36 hours per week; day/evening/night rotation with every other weekend
Shift pattern includes rotating day shifts; nights do not rotate
Free on-site parking

Unit Details

Adult inpatient psychiatric unit
30 beds
Patient population: adults ages 18 to 65
Unit cares for patients with mental health conditions and some medically acute needs

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Massachusetts
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
2 years of psychiatric experience
Psychiatric experience within the last year
Experience in an inpatient setting
BLS issued by the American Heart Association
Experience in charge roles
Proficiency with automatic medication dispensing system (Omni Cell)
Proficiency with psychotropic medications and their side effects

Additional Information

Floating required
Knowledge of Massachusetts Department of Mental Health rules and regulations
Knowledge of restraint and seclusion requirements, legal statuses, guardianship, healthcare proxy, and court-ordered medication
On-site AVADE training and lead EKG training are offered
