Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician

Location: Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Variable shifts: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
  • No weekends, nights, or holidays required

Required Experience

  • Procedural Endoscopy (Endo) experience

Required Credentials & Compliance (Must be completed prior to or at onboarding)

Licenses & Certifications

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification (NBSTSA or NCCT only)
  • Professional license/certification primary source verification (MA Conditional Licenses not accepted)

Health & Immunizations

  • N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no religious exemptions)
  • Documentation of MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
  • Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 – April 30), no exemptions
  • TB test (skin test or blood test) within 3 months of start date, updated if >6 month break
  • Physician health statement within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
  • Respirator Medical Clearance attestation (if fit test required)

Background & Screening

  • Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
  • Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start, updated if >6 month break
  • Social Security Number trace for past 7 years
  • National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
  • Education verification of highest level achieved

Submission Requirements (Must be submitted prior to consideration)

  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
  • Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in skillset)
  • Skills checklist
  • Candidate submission coversheet

Additional Preferred/Optional

  • Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity (strongly preferred)
  • Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (preferred)
  • If positive TB test, documentation of negative chest x-ray required

This position offers a stable schedule with no weekend, night, or holiday shifts and requires specific procedural endoscopy experience along with comprehensive credentialing and health compliance.

I really enjoyed working on the inpatient psychiatry unit at the Faulkner Hospital. Excellent staff, very professional, great teamwork. The patients here receive top notch care.
