Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Travel Position

Job Description

• Minimum 2+ years ICU/MICU experience required
• Must have BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
• 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• Schedule: 36 hours on / 48 hours off
• Must hold a Kentucky or compact nursing license
• RN must reside within 100 miles of the facility to be considered
• Orientation occurs bi-weekly
• Driver’s license required for submission

Required Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA card (front and back if not electronic)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support): Required for all RNs except Psych and some Med/Surg units
• NIH Certification: Required for RN specialties except OR and Psych
• Nursys Verification: Nursing license verification within 30 days of start
• Kentucky or Compact License: Valid for KY ARH facilities; annual updates required

Health & Immunization Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Proof of completed series; religious and medical exemptions accepted with documentation
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer required before start
• Hepatitis B: Proof of 3 vaccine series or declination accepted
• Varicella: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer required before start
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years; declinations accepted
• Influenza Vaccine: Required October through March; exemptions require approval
• TB Quantiferon Test: Blood test within one year prior to start
• Positive PPD: If applicable, requires chest X-ray within last 5 years and TB questionnaire
• Annual Physical/Health Statement: Signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP; must state clear to work without restrictions

Background & Compliance

• ARH 20/20 Background Check: Must be within 30 days prior to start; includes criminal, SSN trace, sex offender, and other checks
• Drug Screen: Must be completed within 30 days of start; excludes marijuana/THC
• Professional References: Two required; one must be a charge nurse or higher, one supervisor reference within the last year
• Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry: Verification required within 30 days prior to start for Kentucky facilities
• Assignment Confirmation: Must be submitted within 24 hours of offer acceptance

Skills & Competency Requirements

• ARH Skills Checklist: Unit-specific, within one year prior to start
• ARH Competency Exam: Unit-specific, within one year prior to start
• ARH Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, Safety Orientation, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Elder Abuse and Neglect, Age Specific Care, Cultural Diversity, Advance Directives; annual update required
• ARH EKG Exam / Telemetry Exam: Unit-specific, within one year prior to start

This position is ideal for experienced ICU nurses with required certifications and immunizations who are licensed in Kentucky or hold a compact license and are within commuting distance.
