Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 07:00 AM – 07:30 PM

Job Description

• Work in an Acuity Adaptable Unit (not a pure ICU unit).
• Strong preference for 48 hours per week.
• Schedule includes every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH).
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles if needed.
• Requires proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience.
• Prior travel experience is required.

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Current, valid RN license verified through Nursys within 30 days prior to start.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA).
• Completion of specialty competency exams with minimum passing scores (e.g., Ascension Specialty Exam, EKG Exam).
• Epic test-out and training checklist with signed attestation.
• Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics.
• NIH Certification (updated yearly or every 2 years depending on group).

Health & Safety Requirements

• Documentation of immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
  • Two Varicella vaccines, serological evidence of immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted).
  • Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement).
  • 2-step PPD or IGRA testing with annual TB questionnaire.
  • Fit test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite).
  • Annual physical exam or statement of good health.
  • 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.

Documentation & Onboarding Requirements

• Professional resume/profile and at least two professional references.
• Signed assignment agreement and onboarding attestations.
• Criminal background check including Social Security trace, OIG search, and National Sex Offender registry within 90 days of start.
• Employment and education verifications completed within 90 days of start.
• Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and address must match licensing requirements).
• Completion of onboarding modules and pre-hire education attestations.
• Skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually.
• Color vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.

Additional Notes

• Must maintain all required certifications and health documentation updated as specified.
• Floating to other units or locations within 40 miles may be required based on staffing needs.
