Emergency Room Registered Nurse providing care for patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening emergencies in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Tennessee
ED - Emergency Department (1 year of experience)
ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
PALS issued by American Heart Association
NIH Certification
Ascension MOAB
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification may be required
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification may be preferred or required
Previous emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred

Role Responsibilities

Rapid patient assessment and triage
Monitoring vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, and changes in condition
Administering medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other ordered treatments
Initiating and maintaining IV access and obtaining blood specimens
Assisting with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
Operating emergency equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators
Educating patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
Maintaining accurate documentation in the electronic health record
