Registered Nurse - Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (PM Shift)


Job Description

  • Care for patients actively receiving stem cell therapies and participating in clinical trials
  • Work in a 16-bed Bone Marrow Transplant unit
  • Administer chemotherapy as part of patient care

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
  • Minimum 2 years of Bone Marrow Transplant nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) or ONCC certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) settings
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in inpatient oncology
  • At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

  • Complete license/certification verification 30 days prior to assignment start
  • Fit Test (3M N95 1860S, 1870+, or PAPR) annually required for direct patient care
  • ECG exam completion and certificate upload required
  • Immunizations and health screenings required prior to start:
    • Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer
    • Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B series, positive titer, or declination accepted
    • Tuberculosis test (QuantiFERON/T-Spot or 2-step skin test) within 30 days prior to start
  • Physical/Health statement within 1 year required
  • Criminal background check completed within 90 days prior to start, including nationwide searches
  • 9-panel drug screen completed within 90 days prior to start (marijuana removed from panel)
  • Two professional references from a charge nurse or higher within last 2 years
  • Highest level of education verification required
  • Color badge photo meeting specified criteria required
  • Current skills checklist completed within 12 months prior to start
  • Internal competency checklist to be completed within 2 weeks after start
  • Annual compliance training module completion required

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not specified as required
  • Influenza vaccine is optional but may be required seasonally (with exemptions considered)
  • Driver’s license or valid government-issued ID required for profile submission
