Job Opportunity: X-Ray Technologist

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist provides expedited care by performing X-ray exams as ordered by urgent care providers. The role includes assisting with both front office and back office clinical activities in a fast-paced urgent care environment.


Key Responsibilities

Front Office Duties

  • Perform assigned front office tasks including opening and closing checklists
  • Greet and assist patients and guests professionally
  • Register patients in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Process payments for services

Back Office Clinical Duties

  • Room and triage patients
  • Document symptoms, patient history, chief complaint, vital signs, and other clinical information in the EMR
  • Obtain and process patient specimens for point of care tests (e.g., rapid strep, flu, pregnancy tests) and send out labs as required
  • Assist with minor surgical procedures under licensed provider supervision

Radiologic Technologist Duties

  • Prepare radiology suite, equipment, and materials
  • Follow protocols for preparing adult and pediatric patients for X-ray studies, capture images, and document in EMR
  • Clean and stage exam and procedure suites between patients
  • Monitor receipt of X-ray images and availability of results
  • Restock supplies and assist with training new employees
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiology Technologist license in Massachusetts
  • Minimum of 2 years of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT certification/license required
  • BLS certification required

Working Conditions

  • Reliable, independent transportation required for travel to various urgent care locations
  • Frequent walking, standing, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, and hearing
  • Manual dexterity required for computer and calculator use
  • Fast-paced office environment with constant public and staff interaction
  • Work may be stressful due to high volume

Required Onboarding and Compliance

  • Documentation of MMR immunity or vaccination
  • TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
  • Health statement signed by a licensed provider within 1 year of start date
  • Criminal background check and related professional verifications within required timeframes
  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience
  • Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor-level
  • Skills checklist completed within 1 year
  • Confirmation of assignment form upon acceptance and for extensions
  • Education verification as part of background check
  • National sex offender and exclusion checks as required by state regulations

Additional optional or preferred vaccinations and documentation may be requested.
